My Honest Review of WattCycle Lithium Batteries for Fishing Electronics & Boat Use
As a full-time fishing guide, reliable power is a big deal for me. Between long days on the water, running electronics, using Garmin LiveScope, charging gear, and making sure everything is ready for the next trip, I need batteries I can trust.
Recently, WattCycle sent me a few batteries to test out, including their 12V Mini 50Ah battery, 12V 100Ah battery, and the 12V 100Ah deep cycle battery with starting capability. After using them on my boat, I can honestly say I have been really impressed.
I especially love the 12V 100Ah deep cycle and starting battery. For me, that battery is a huge deal because it gives me the ability to run a deep cycle battery setup while also having starting capability. That is something I really like having on a guide boat where reliability matters every single day.
How I Use the WattCycle 12V 100Ah Battery
One of the main ways I use my WattCycle 12V 100Ah battery is for my Garmin LiveScope setup. I run two Garmin screens, and LiveScope is one of the most important tools I use when guiding.
So far, the 100Ah battery has been awesome. It charges within a few hours, and I can get around three days of use out of it for my electronics setup. That is a huge upgrade compared to constantly worrying about battery life during long guide trips.
When you are on the water all day, especially running electronics hard, it is nice not having to think about whether your battery is going to make it through the day.
Lightweight Compared to Lead-Acid Batteries
One of the biggest things I noticed right away is how lightweight these batteries are compared to traditional lead-acid batteries.
If you have ever carried lead-acid marine batteries around, you know they are heavy and annoying to move. The WattCycle lithium batteries are much easier to handle, install, and move around when needed.
For a guide boat, that matters. Less weight in the boat is always a good thing, and it makes rigging and maintenance a lot easier.
Charging Has Been Easy
Another thing I really like is that the batteries have worked with my NOCO Genius charger. That makes things simple for me because I already use NOCO chargers and did not have to completely change my charging setup.
The batteries charge fast, and so far, the whole process has been easy.
Why Lithium Batteries Make Sense for Fishing
For anglers running fish finders, LiveScope, trolling motors, lights, or other boat electronics, lithium batteries are a great upgrade. They are lighter, charge faster, and give you dependable power for long days on the water.

That setup makes a lot of sense for my boat and the way I fish.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I have been really happy with the WattCycle batteries. I use them in real guide situations, not just for a quick test, and they have made my setup lighter, easier, and more reliable.
