Lead Guide Aaron Gaza
Licensed NYS Fishing, Boating, and Canoeing Guide (#6184)
My passion for Northern Pike fishing began at a young age, listening to the incredible stories my father shared about fishing with my grandfather, Milan Gaza, deep in the Canadian wilderness. My grandfather was a passionate Musky and Pike angler, fishing guide, and lure maker on Lake of the Woods and Eagle Lake, Canada, from 1956 to 2009. He passed his knowledge down to my father, who spent countless hours teaching me the art of fishing.
From an early age, Northern Pike stole my heart. That passion eventually became an obsession when I discovered Great Sacandaga Lake. I dedicated hundreds of hours to learning its waters, perfecting my techniques, and pursuing trophy fish. Inspired by my grandfather's legacy, I decided to turn that passion into a career.
In 2018, I began pursuing the necessary licenses and certifications to establish Aaron's Guide Service LLC. Today, I'm a fully insured New York State Licensed Guide (#6184), operating approximately 250 guided fishing trips annually, with many returning customers from across the United States and Canada.
I currently guide aboard my 22-foot Excel Bay Pro 220, powered by a 150 HP Suzuki outboard. Specializing in trophy Northern Pike, I also offer guided trips for Walleye, Bass, Panfish, and ice fishing throughout Great Sacandaga Lake and the Adirondacks.
In 2026, I expanded my passion for fishing by launching The Pike Pro Shop, an online tackle retailer specializing in premium Northern Pike and Musky fishing equipment, including unique European lures that I've personally tested on the water.
I was also recently elected Chairman of the Great Sacandaga Fish Federation, where I work to support fish stocking, conservation, and the continued improvement of the lake's fishery for future generations.
Fishing has been a part of my family for three generations, and sharing that passion with others is what makes guiding so rewarding. Whether you're chasing your first Northern Pike or the trophy of a lifetime, I look forward to welcoming you aboard Aaron's Guide Service!

Jim brings over 40 years of experience fishing Great Sacandaga Lake and Saratoga Lake. Known for consistently catching impressive numbers of Walleye, Bass, and Northern Pike, Jim has built a reputation as one of the most knowledgeable and effective guides in the region. His legendary 70-walleye day on Great Sacandaga Lake, captured on film, is just one example of the incredible fishing experiences he provides.

"Jim Jam" guides from a 17.5’ Lund Deep-V boat with space for up to 3 anglers. His boat is fully equipped with modern sonar technology and a high-end trolling motor, making it an extremely capable fishing platform.
Trips with Jim can include jigging, casting, trolling, or a mix of techniques, depending on conditions and what is working best that day.
