The Best Pike Tackle Built for Big Fish
THE FOXFIRE! OUR MOST RELIABLE PIKE & MUSKY BAIT!
For years, my Poppy, Milan Gaza, experimented with countless blade combinations and components in pursuit of perfecting his legendary lure, the Foxfire. After extensive testing, the setup that consistently produced was a fluted Indiana paired with a #6 Colorado blade, built on a very specific ½ oz body with trailer and skirt.
He sold these lures for over 35 years under the name “GAZ”, and they went on to catch thousands of Pike and Musky. For several anglers, the Foxfire was even the lure behind their very first 50” Musky!
So what makes it special? Likely the fact that it can be slow-rolled while still throwing off an impressive amount of vibration from the blades and trailer. It’s also an excellent starter bait, perfect for kids or spouses who are just getting into fishing.
This 3/8 oz blade bait is one of our go-to lures for catching walleye, bass, perch, and northern pike throughout the open-water season. Measuring 2 inches long, it has the perfect compact profile for matching baitfish while still putting off a hard vibration that draws strikes from aggressive and finicky fish alike.
We use these blade baits heavily on Great Sacandaga Lake, where they have become one of our hottest walleye baits for both casting and vertical jigging. They work great in spring, summer, and fall, whether you are covering water along weed edges, ripping them over flats, jigging deep structure, or targeting suspended fish.
The metal blade design creates a tight, vibrating action that triggers reaction bites from walleye and bass, while the compact size also makes it deadly for perch. Pike will crush them too, especially when worked around bait, weeds, rock, and drop-offs.

If you’re running dead bait under tip-ups, chasing early-ice trophy fish, or setting up for aggressive pre-spawn pike, these rigs give you a clean, fast hookup without damaging your bait or losing fish at the hole. They’re made to fish, not just sit in a package. Perfect for Northern Pike, Pickerel, Walleye, Bass & Lake Trout.

These fluorocarbon rigs are built for anglers who want something dependable—not flimsy store-bought wire that kinks after one fish. If you fish pike regularly, or you’re prepping for ice season, these are the leaders you want in your box.
When targeting big Northern Pike and Musky, a quality pair of heavy-duty hook cutters is an absolute necessity. These powerful cutters are designed to quickly cut treble hooks, single hooks, and heavy fishing hooks when a fish inhales the bait or is hooked deep near the gills.
Trying to rip or pull a hook out of a deeply hooked pike or musky can cause serious damage, including torn gills, heavy bleeding, and often fatal injury. With the right pike and musky hook removal tool, you can safely cut the hook, remove the bait faster, and greatly improve the fish’s chance of survival.
These cutters are a must-have for any serious pike fishing, musky fishing, trophy fishing, or catch-and-release angler. Whether you’re fishing large jerkbaits, glide baits, crankbaits, or big treble-hook lures, keeping a reliable pair of hook cutters in the boat is one of the most important tools for safe fish handling.
Perfect for anglers targeting:
Northern Pike, Musky, Tiger Musky, large freshwater predators, and catch-and-release trophy fish.
